A Trip to Jiuzhaigou Nature Reserve

Here's a collection of photos I took during my trip to Jiuzhaigou Nature Reserve in Sichuan China in late Autumn 2016.

Jiuzhaigou (九寨沟 Jiǔzhàigōu) is a nature reserve in the north of Sichuan province in central China. It is officially known as Jiuzhai Valley in English. It is known as the habitat of giant pandas (although it is extremely rare to ever see a panda in the park) and mainly for its many multi-level waterfalls and colorful lakes. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992. It belongs to the category V (Protected Landscape) in the IUCN system of protected area categorization.

All photos were taken with Nikon D70s on Tamron 17-35mm, except all 3 panorama shots were taken with iPhone 6 Plus. All photos were post-processed in Photoshop CS6 and all panoramas in Snapseed.

Any Comments? Wanna find someone to go with?

Reply AvatayahWalker:Yes I've watched that movie too directed by Zhang Yimou. That sword fighting scene in the movie was taken in Joizhaigou, Sichuan, where the 2 characters were sword fighting, played by Jet Li and Tony Leung. You should travel there and see for yourself. :)

Reply Samm:Well I missed the great Longmen Grottoes as I didn't stayed long enough in Zhengzhou, Henan. Regarding the Jiuzhaigou travel package, I wasn't too sure as my Henan friend helped to book from their local travel agency. It cost a little more for foreign travellers. Best to tag along one or two local Chinese friends to enquire more info.

Reply MartinBoon:Hi Martin, so you have been to Zhenzhou, Henan first? In that way, I guess you didn't miss the great Longmen Grottoes. And how much is the travel package? Is it available for a single foreigner?
